WHAT IS SS-31?

SS-31 is a small peptide that goes straight to your mitochondria, the tiny "power plants" inside your cells that make energy. It settles into a part of the mitochondria called cardiolipin and helps it work the way it did when you were younger, so cells that are tired, aging, or under stress can produce energy more efficiently and shrug off more of the daily wear-and-tear that wears them down.

About this vial size: the 50 mg is the same peptide as the 10 mg, just five times as much of it in one vial. It is the size for people who already know SS-31 works for them and want to run a long stretch without reordering. Because it holds so much, your units are different from the 10 mg guide. Read the mixing and dosing sections here rather than going from memory.

WHO MAY BENEFIT?

SS-31 tends to appeal to people who are:

  • Running on empty, low energy, burnout, or that "tired but wired" feeling
  • Recovering from illness, a stressful stretch, or hard training
  • Noticing slower recovery and more brain fog as they get older
  • Focused on healthy aging and giving their cells extra support

The 50 mg specifically suits people who have already run a 10 mg vial and know they want to keep going, people dosing at the higher end of the range, and households where two people are running it.

BENEFITS PEOPLE REPORT

Everyone is different, and not everyone notices every one of these.

  • Higher physical and mental energy
  • Improved stamina and endurance
  • Reduced fatigue and burnout
  • Faster muscle recovery
  • Clearer thinking and less brain fog
  • Anti-inflammatory and anti-aging support
  • Support for tired or stressed mitochondria
  • A helping hand while recovering from illness, stress, or intense training

HOW IT WORKS

In simple terms, SS-31 helps your mitochondria by:

  • ✔ Boosting ATP (your cells' energy currency)
  • ✔ Calming oxidative stress and inflammation
  • ✔ Supporting cellular repair and survival

Most people describe the effect as deep vitality returning, not stimulation, more capacity rather than a "buzz."

WHAT TO EXPECT

Start low, go slow. Timelines vary from person to person.

Weeks 1 to 2

  • Subtle at first, often a little steadier energy and mood

Weeks 2 to 4

  • More consistent stamina through the day, less mid-afternoon crash

Weeks 4 to 8

  • Better recovery, clearer focus, and a greater sense of "capacity"

💛 T'S TIP

"For me, SS-31 felt less like a jolt of caffeine and more like my battery finally holding a charge again. Give it a couple of weeks before you decide how you feel about it, and drink your water. The days I stayed hydrated were always the days I felt the difference most.

One thing about this bigger vial, babe: mix it the day you actually plan to start, not the day it arrives. A 50 mg vial is a lot of peptide sitting in the fridge, and the clock on mixed peptide starts the moment the water goes in. Plan your cycle around the vial and you will get every drop of it."

MIXING

This guide is based on: a 50 mg SS-31 vial mixed with 3 mL BAC (bacteriostatic) water.

  • Add the BAC water slowly, letting it run down the inside of the vial
  • Swirl gently to mix, never shake
  • Let it settle until the liquid is clear
  • Refrigerate right away, and use a fresh sterile syringe every time

*At this mix, 3 units = 0.5 mg (500 mcg). That is the number to remember: every 3 units is another half milligram. One single unit is about 167 mcg.*

If you have used the 10 mg vial before, your units change here. The 10 mg mixed with 2 mL gives 50 mcg per unit. This vial gives about 167 mcg per unit, so the same dose takes roughly a third of the units you are used to. Go by the chart below, not by memory.

DOSING

A gentle starting point: 0.5 mg (3 units) once daily, about 5 days per week.

Many people run 4 to 8 week cycles and adjust based on how they feel.

DOSING CHART (50 mg vial mixed with 3 mL BAC water)

SYRINGE UNITS (U-100) DOSE MICROGRAMS
3 units 0.5 mg 500 mcg
4 units about 0.67 mg 665 mcg
5 units about 0.83 mg 835 mcg
6 units 1.0 mg 1000 mcg
7 units about 1.17 mg 1165 mcg
8 units about 1.33 mg 1335 mcg
9 units 1.5 mg 1500 mcg

* U-100 insulin syringe · 1 mL = 100 units

This chart is built on units first, because at this concentration the whole-unit marks are what you can actually see on the syringe. Pick your line and draw to it.

HOW LONG DOES ONE VIAL LAST?

Based on a 50 mg vial, taken about 5 days per week.

DAILY DOSE DOSES PER VIAL APPROX. DURATION
0.5 mg (3 units) 100 doses ~20 weeks
0.67 mg (4 units) 75 doses ~15 weeks
0.83 mg (5 units) 60 doses ~12 weeks
1.0 mg (6 units) 50 doses ~10 weeks
1.33 mg (8 units) 37 doses ~7.5 weeks
1.5 mg (9 units) 33 doses ~6.5 weeks

Read this before you mix. Mixed peptide is meant to be used within about 4 to 8 weeks. At 1.33 to 1.5 mg a day, one 50 mg vial lands right inside that window, which is exactly who this size is for. At 0.5 mg a day it would take five months to finish, which is far longer than mixed peptide should sit. If you are a light, occasional user, the 10 mg vial is the better buy, and I would rather tell you that than sell you the big one. If you have the 50 mg and you dose low, plan to share it with someone in your house or run a higher daily dose, and reach out to me if you are not sure which you are.

SIDE EFFECTS

Not common, but reported:

  • Mild nausea
  • Occasional stomach upset
  • Rare headache
  • Very rarely, lightheadedness if you're dehydrated

If anything feels off, lower the dose and increase your water intake.

STORAGE

Before mixing

  • Keep refrigerated, protect from heat and direct sunlight
  • Keep out of reach of children

After mixing

  • Refrigerate at 36 to 46°F (2 to 8°C)
  • Do not freeze
  • Use within about 4 to 8 weeks, with a sterile syringe each time
  • With a vial this size, write the mix date on the label. Eight weeks is easy to lose track of.

HELPFUL TIPS

  • Start low and go slow, find the lowest dose that makes you feel good
  • Stay well hydrated and prioritize protein
  • Protect your sleep, recovery happens overnight
  • Rotate injection sites to keep skin happy
  • Be consistent, give it a few weeks before judging results
  • Reach out if side effects stick around or you notice little change after several weeks

Pairs well with: NAD+ (energy & repair), MOTS-C (endurance & metabolic health), CJC / Ipamorelin (recovery & anti-aging), AOD-9604 (fat-loss goals).

FAQ

I ran the 10 mg before. Why are my units different? Because there is five times as much peptide in this vial and only a little more water. Here 1 unit is about 167 mcg instead of 50 mcg, so the same dose takes roughly a third of the units. Pull up this chart, not the old one.

Why are some doses listed as "about"? Because 50 mg does not divide evenly into 3 mL. The whole-unit marks on your syringe land on 0.5 mg, 1.0 mg and 1.5 mg exactly, and the numbers in between are close approximations. None of the in-between amounts are precise enough to fuss over.

Will I feel a big rush of energy? Usually not. Most people describe more steady capacity over time rather than a stimulant-style buzz.

How soon will I notice something? Often subtle in the first week or two, becoming more noticeable across weeks 2 to 8. Everyone is different.

What if I miss a day? Just pick back up with your next scheduled dose. There's no need to double up.

Does it need to be refrigerated? Yes, keep it cold after mixing, and never freeze it.

Can I combine it with other peptides? Many people do, see the pairings under Helpful Tips. Start one thing at a time so you know what's working.
