Best known for Tanning / melanin

What Is It?

Melanotan II is a synthetic peptide most often used to stimulate melanin production (tanning). It's also since been shown to have effects on immunity, metabolism, appetite regulation, and sexual function.

Who May Benefit?

  • Anyone wanting a base tan with less sun exposure
  • People who burn easily and want more protection built in
  • Anyone interested in its appetite/libido effects

Benefits

  • Stimulates melanin production (tanning)
  • Powerful effects on immunity
  • Metabolic support
  • Appetite regulation
  • Sexual function support

How It Works

Melanotan II mimics a hormone that tells your skin's pigment cells to produce more melanin — so you tan faster and deeper with less UV exposure. The same receptor family is also tied to appetite and sexual function, which is why those effects show up too.

What to Expect

A loading phase of 1–2 weeks builds your base tan, then you drop to maintenance. Best results come when you pair each shot with 20–30 minutes of UV/sun exposure. Early doses often bring mild nausea or flushing that settles with time.

💛 T's Tip

Less is more with this one, babe — the lowest effective dose is genuinely the goal, because that's what keeps the side effects away. Start at 5 units every other day and just see how you respond; everyone's different. Mild nausea or flushing in the early doses is common and it usually settles. Pair your shot with a short 20–30 minutes of sun and rotate your sites so nothing gets irritated. 💛 — T

Mixing

Add 2 mL BAC water to the 10 mg vial. Run it gently down the side, swirl (don't shake) until clear, and refrigerate.

At this mix, 1 unit = 50 mcg, so 10 units = 500 mcg.

Dosing (not medical advice)

Step 1 — Loading phase:

Stage Dose Units Frequency
Start 250 mcg 5 units Every other day (test tolerance)
Build 500 mcg 10 units Every other day

Continue for 1–2 weeks until your base tan is established (usually 1–2 mg total weekly). Best results when paired with short 20–30 minute UV/sun exposure after injection.

Step 2 — Maintenance:

Dose Units Frequency
250–500 mcg 5–10 units 2–3× per week

Adjust frequency depending on how well your tan holds.

How Long Will One Vial Last?

One 10 mg vial (200 total units):

Dose Doses per vial
250 mcg (5 units) 40 doses
500 mcg (10 units) 20 doses

At maintenance (5–10 units, 2–3× weekly), one vial lasts a couple of months.

Side Effects

Common in early doses, usually subside with time:

  • Mild nausea
  • Flushing
  • Appetite changes

Rotate injection sites to reduce irritation.

Storage

Refrigerate the reconstituted vial (36–46°F / 2–8°C). Swab the stopper each time, use a fresh sterile syringe, keep out of light.

Tips

  • Less is more — the lowest effective dose minimizes side effects
  • Rotate injection sites (abdomen, thigh, love handles)
  • Pair with short UV/sun exposure after injecting
  • Start low, increase slowly — everyone responds differently

FAQ

Can I combine this with my other peptides? Using more than one peptide is common and perfectly fine — but different peptides should not be combined in the same syringe. A few technically can be mixed, but they don't always play well together, and in some cases they can work against each other, so you lose the benefit of both. It isn't worth the guesswork. Keep each peptide in its own syringe — you can still take them in the same sitting, one right after another. When in doubt, keep them separate.

Do I still need sun? Yes — Melanotan II amplifies your tanning response, so a short 20–30 minutes of UV/sun after your shot is where the results come from.

I felt nauseous / flushed after my shot. Very common in the early doses and it usually subsides. If it doesn't, come down on the dose.

How long until I see a tan? Usually 1–2 weeks of the loading phase to establish a base.

A Little Reminder

Start low, go slow, and let your body set the pace — the lowest dose that works is always the right one. You don't have to do this perfectly. I'm really glad you're here. 💛
